1) DEMO RELEASE IS NOW AVAILABLE ON OUR WEBSITE
The demo version of our March 2001 release is now available for download from
our web site at www.davincitechnologies.com/AirplanePDQDemo.htm. As with the
previous version, the demo version has complete functionality except that you
cannot save or print your designs. It also has only a small subset of the
airfoil library available in the full version. Please take a look. We've removed
the password requirement this time around so those of you that are shy about
giving out your name and email address can download it anonymously.

2) FIRST BUG FIX UPDATE FOR MARCH 2001 RELEASE IS AVAILABLE ON WEBSITE
An update to the March 2001 release is now available on our web site. This
update addresses several issues regarding weight estimation, calculation of the
fuselage volume for the Geometry Report, and missing Nacelle drag on the Drag
Breakdown Report. You can download this update or get more information at
www.davincitechnologies.com/updates.htm.

3) DESIGNS NEEDED FOR GALLERY SECTION ON WEBSITE
We are working on a new section of our website that will showcase various
airplane designs developed or modeled in AirplanePDQ. If you have a design
you're working on and are willing to share, please send the drawing file to us
at gallery@davincitechnologies.com. We'll be happy to provide a link to your web
site if desired along with your design. If you're willing for us to display
images of your design, but would rather not allow people to download the drawing
file, that is fine as well just let us know. We'll also have a page where you
can download additional engines or airfoils. If you have any airfoil data or
engine data you'd like to share, please send it along.

4) FORUM PRESENTATION SCHEDULED FOR EAA AIRVENTURE
The Oshkosh airshow is coming soon and this year I have the privilege of
presenting a forum titled "Rapid Performance Evaluation of an Aircraft
Design" on Thursday, July 26th at 2:30 in Pavilion 4. The forum will review
some approximate methods for rapidly estimating performance of a design. Some
spreadsheets and charts from the presentation will be available after the forum
on the web site, so stay tuned. Details are available at http://www.airventure.org/forums/forum_detail.asp?EventID=12&SessionID=2722.
Of course, we'll also have our booth at AirVenture so please stop by if you can.
We'll be in building C, booth #3119.

5) TWO NEW FLAT-RATE CONSULTING PROGRAMS ANNOUNCED
We are now offering two new flat-rate consulting services for our customers. The
first is an airfoil analysis and data service. Finding published aerodynamic
data for a particular airfoil you're interested in can be very difficult and in
some cases impossible. We significantly increased the size of our airfoil
database in the March 2001 Release, but there are still many airfoils,
particularly the more modern designs, that are not in our database yet. To help
address this problem, we're offering to provide detailed aerodynamic analysis of
any airfoil section for the flat rate of $100/airfoil. We use an industry
standard airfoil analysis tool for this work and generate data at a range of
Reynolds numbers appropriate to your design. The aerodynamic coefficients will
be provided to you in the proper format for use with AirplanePDQ.
The second service is a design review service. Many designers would like to
have someone perform a detailed check on their design to help ensure that it
will meet their requirements and provide suggestions for ways to improve the
quality of the design. We're now offering this type of service for the flat rate
of $875. This includes an in-depth review of your conceptual design and a
detailed report on the estimated performance, and weight and balance. Your
design will be compared with our historical database of other aircraft to
provide additional confidence in the design. Sizing and layout of the various
aircraft components will be analyzed for safety and performance. If any
modifications are suggested, performance comparisons of the original design and
the design including the suggested modifications will be provided in the written
report.
If you would like further details on either of these services please contact
me at the email or phone numbers shown below.

6) THANKS FOR PRINTED MANUAL ORDERS
Thank you to all of you that have purchased the printed manuals. We hope that
you have found them helpful. We were unsure of the demand at first, but have
been very pleased with the continued interest. We anticipate selling out the
last of the first printing in the next week or two and are preparing to order a
second batch.

Thank you to all of our customers for your support and to all of you that have
continued to express interest in our AirplanePDQ software. If you have any
questions or suggestions please let me know. You can reach me at gilcrouse@davincitechnologies.com,
