January 2001 Newsletter

Happy New Year from DaVinci Technologies. We hope that you had a blessed holiday season. With the start of the new year we wanted to let you know what is happening with our AirplanePDQ design software and what you can look forward to in the next few months. Here's a list of the topics in this message

1) MEDIA COVERAGE
2) INTRODUCTORY PRICE AVAILABLE INTO FEBRUARY
3) NEW FEATURES IN THE FEBRUARY RELEASE
4) PRINTED USER'S MANUAL COMING SOON
5) WORLDWIDE RESPONSE

1) MEDIA COVERAGE Our AirplanePDQ software has been getting some great media coverage in the last few months. A full, independent review of the software entitled "A fantastic tool for designing a plane or learning aerodynamics" appeared in the November 10th issue of Flyer magazine. We also appeared in the November issue of Sport Aviation, the December issue of Experimenter, the December issue of Desktop Engineering, and the January 2001 issue of Aerospace America! If you'd like to read any of the articles check our web site at www.davincitechnologies.com/news.htm. Please let us know if you see us anywhere else!

2) INTRODUCTORY PRICE AVAILABLE INTO FEBRUARY The big news is that our second major release is coming out in February and our introductory price will be available until it is released. Note that with our one year free upgrade policy, you can get the current release at the introductory price of $75 and automatically receive the new release at no additional cost. For orders placed after the new release becomes available, the price will be $99. Order soon to take advantage of the introductory offer.

3) NEW FEATURES IN THE FEBRUARY RELEASE Here are some of the great features to look forward to:

SUPPORT FOR NEW CONFIGURATIONS

Multi-engine (push-pull or side-by-side)
Biplanes
3 surface designs (canard, main wing, and horizontal stabilizer)
Flying wings
Wing-tip vertical stabilizers

NEW ANALYSIS CAPABILITIES

Propeller performance analysis
Forward CG limit calculation
Improved aerodynamic modeling
Support for engine thrust lines away from the CG (e.g. pylon mounted engines)

OTHER IMPROVEMENTS

Editable front view of fuselage
Fuel tanks in fuselage
Smoother installation
Optimized CAD code for faster execution
Optional VBA installation for less disk space required

4) PRINTED USER'S MANUAL COMING SOON The other good news is that we will soon be offering a printed and bound user's manual as a purchase option with the software. These should be available around the beginning of February. Stay tuned for more information.

5) WORLDWIDE RESPONSE One of our nicest surprises has been the response to AirplanePDQ from around the world. Almost 20% of our customers are from outside the USA. While other English-speaking countries such as Canada, Australia, the UK, and New Zealand lead the way, we also have customers in the Far East (e.g., Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong), South America (e.g., Argentina and Columbia), the Middle East (e.g., Israel, Saudi Arabia), and in most of the countries of Europe. A big thanks, gracias, merci, danke, grazie, agradeça-o, terima kasih, sukran, arigato, etc... to all of you around the globe.

Thank you for your continued interest in our AirplanePDQ software. If you have any questions or suggestions about the software please let us know. You can reach us at info@davincitechnologies.com, toll free at or for international callers at
